Calverton took the lead midway through the first half with a Paul Mappleback header - his second goal in two games. Wollaton came back to equalise before half-time after a defensive lapse by Calverton.
Wollaton then took the lead in the second half, but Calverton were still creating chances and looking the better side. Keith Harrison scored what seemed to be a legitimate equaliser from a free-kick, but this was ruled out by the referee, apparantly for obstruction in front of the keeper.
A frustrating afternoon and a cup exit at the first hurdle for the veterans.
